In cooperation with Al Jalila Foundation Dubai Ladies Club celebrates cancer survivors

Naeema Ahli: The gathering is a part of the many initiatives that accomplish the humanitarian vision of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and her keenness to support and motivate women in various fields.

Dubai, October 19, 2023: Dubai Ladies Club celebrated 30 women who are cancer survivors during the “Cancer Survivors Gathering,” which was organised in cooperation with Al Jalila Foundation under the slogan “Stronger Together,” bringing together cancer survivors and members of Majlis Al Amal, Hope Lounge in Arabic, a unique ‘cancer drop-in centre’ and the first of its kind community centre dedicated to female cancer patients and their wellbeing. It included a complete program of activities—awareness, fitness and entertainment. This event reflects Dubai Ladies Club’s commitment to support, empower, and motivate women in various aspects of life.

Naeema Ahli, Acting CEO of Dubai Women Establishment extended a warm welcome to all participants in the gathering; which aligns with the many initiatives and programs that accomplish the humanitarian vision of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, President of the Dubai Women Establishment, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and her keenness to support and motivate women in various fields.

Naeema Ahli commended the remarkable health and awareness initiatives led by Al Jalila Foundation, both nationally and internationally. This embodies the global humanitarian principles championed by the UAE. She highlighted the significance of the partnership with Al Jalila Foundation, emphasizing their role in translating the vision of our wise leadership, where health and safety are of great importance.

The gathering was attended by Sabra Thani, Director of the Corporate Communication Department of Dubai Women Establishment and Lamya Gabr, Manager of the Majlis Al Amal by Al Jalila Foundation, media professionals and social influencers. The gathering featured an inspiring session on “Emotional Intelligence and its Impact on Mental Health,” led by motivational speaker Rawan Haj. She highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence in achieving happiness, maintaining emotional balance, and using our emotions to fuel our goals and interactions with others. Practical exercises were shared to enhance emotional intelligence for daily life.

Attendees also enjoyed a leisurely day at Dubai Ladies Club facilities, including the gym, swimming pools, sports fields, and the exclusive beach, a unique space dedicated to women in Dubai. They were introduced to the Club’s “October Hues” activities, tailored for female members and visitors throughout the month.

As part of its encouragement for women to follow an active and lively lifestyle, the Dubai Club provided attendees with an exclusive membership offer under the name “Annual Pink Membership,” designed for two people, one of whom is a cancer survivor. This is a testament to Dubai Ladies Clubs’ commitment to promoting well-being and unity among women.
