Octagym Work Outs

WOD (Workout of the Day) – A high intensity workout which results in strength and power gains, improved endurance levels, increased balance and coordination, weight loss and improved body shape.  Includes some weightlifting to increase and build strength.

SKILL – This 30 minute session is for those who wish to perfect some of the exercises used in the WODs, for example “Toes to Bar”, “Clean and Press”, “Pull ups,” technique is an essential part of these movements, to ensure safety and effectiveness of the workout.

CALISTHENICS – Includes running, standing, grasping, pushing, etc. — often performed rhythmically and with minimal equipment, so essentially, bodyweight exercises. When performed vigorously and with variety, calisthenics can provide the benefits of muscular aerobic conditioning, in addition to improving psychomotor skills such as balance, agility and coordination.
